Watford Weather in October

What a month October was this year it can be summed up in one word wet. There was record rainfall across the country, on the 3rd it was even the wettest day ever recorded in the UK since records began in 1891. The temperature was average with a CET of 10.45c which is -0.1c below average. The biggest storm of the month was Alex which occurred at the beginning of the month and it dumped the rain on the 3rd. One particular place, Oxford Radcliff Observatory recorded its wettest day for 185 years with 185.3mm of rain. It was a cloudy month across the UK unsurprisingly due to all the rain.

Watford Stats

A wet month in Watford with 104.4mm of rain falling one of my highest recordings for October since 1982! There were only 4 days when rain didn’t fall. With all the rain it was a dull month and too much cloud for frosts. The highest temperature was 17.5c on the 8th and the lowest was 4.5c on the 9th. On the 4th it was the coldest day with a max temperature of 11.5c.

Looking ahead to November

November is looking like it will be very mild, returning to the months where the UK had above average months. Near the end of the month, it is looking like winter will make an appearance.
