Zara McFarlane at XOYO in London

On the 12th February I headed down to XOYO to hear the British jazzy soul singer, Zara McFarlane. She played some of her latest tracks from her excellent 2nd album, which was recently launched on the Brownswood record label.

She played quite a few tracks from both albums to a packed audience and spoke about the inspiration behind the words of a few tracks. She will be a much bigger star in the future, Gilles knows how to pick his artists for the record label 🙂

Below are some photographs from the gig and a video. Check out her latest album which is out now if you like soulful, jazzy, folky music.

Also playing on the night was Diggs Duke over from America who played a couple of tracks. He sang an excellent interpretation of Gill Scott Heron “We almost lost Detroit” as a warm up to Zara.
