Weather stats for Watford – January 2014

What a month January has been!!! Wet wet wet is 3 words to describe the month.  It has been the wettest month in the UK since records began. In Watford, I have never recorded so much rain in a month since I started recording in 1982!

Here are some facts across the UK and further down are statistics from my own weather station.

UK Statistics
We ended up at 5.71c (CET) which is 1.8c above average quite a warm month overall. In England it was the wettest January since 1767 (250 years)

Outlook for February
Looks like we are on for more of the same and from next Wednesday for 10 days it looks like we will have even more storms than we had in January. It could be even wetter than January!! It’s definitely going to be the wettest winter since records began. It is also going to be warmer than average month.
