Watford Weather – August 2016

Summer certainly arrived this month with quite a few hot spells a welcome change from recent Augusts. The highest temperature in Watford was 32.2c on the 24th not the highest of the summer as this was 33c in July.

It was a dry month with only 9.6mm of rain falling and 23 dry days. Lots of sunshine and southerly winds continued through most of the month.

Over the UK the CET ended up at 17.1c which was 1.3c above the average. The highest temperature of the month was in Gravesend in Kent at 33.9c on the 24th. It has been wet in the western UK with winds coming off the the Atlantic more than further south.

September outlook is looking warm to very warm for the first 2 weeks it will most likely cool down after that.
