Winter 2013 – 2014
It has been an extreme season which will go down in the record books as the wettest winter on record. The 3rd wettest season on record as well. These rainfall records go back since 1799. It has also been mild (12th mildest since 1659) with one of the lowest amounts of air frosts in winter. Temperatures have generally been average with no exceptionally warm weather. There has also been the wide spread absence of low lying snow fall with some places in southern England not recording even a snow flake!!
My winter statistics here in Watford are shown below.
Highest temperature : 16c on 24th February
Lowest temperature : -3.3c on 11th January
Air frosts : 13 days
Rainy Days : 66 days (73% of the winter days were rainy)
