Starwars reaches Leytonstone for Stuart Freeborn

On the 12th December Storm troopers descended on a Leytonstone pub in honour of the memory of Stuart Freeborn. Supported by the council a series of murals have been created in front of the Heathcote Arms pub.

Stuart Freeborn is credited for creating the character Yoda from Starwars modelling it on himself and Albert Einstein. Besides Starwars he also worked on lots of major films including the 2001 Space Odyssey.

He was born in Leytonstone in 1914 and died in 2013 at the age of 98. He was a great talent and is celebrated with a blue plaque in the Grove Green Road.

At the event in the Heathcote Arms there were some artists showing off their Starwars art work.

This is Rutvig Vaid who creates lovely pencil drawn art work. You can find him on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/rutvigvaid
