Rebecca Ferguson & Ronnie Scotts All Stars band in Watford

Jazz came to Watford high street on the 17th May with a number of bands coming to play at the Summer sounds in Watford.

The sultry tones of Rebecca Ferguson and the jazzy vibes of the Ronnie Scotts All Stars band amongst others. It was a delight to see them in Watford. I must say it was well organised and the

sound quality was excellent. It’s a pity more people didn’t come out to see them at this free event.

It was a cool spring evening when we arrived after having dinner at an Italian restaurant. The first act we saw was the highly acclaimed Ronnie Scotts All Star band with their old classic jazz pieces.

Next came Rebecca the headline act for the day. Her brilliant voice singing Billie Holiday’s old classics. Her new album is called the Lady Sings the Blues in which she reproduces her version of the tracks. It has been well received she has done a good job.

Some photos below of her playing on stage.

It’s good to see the town looking splendid with the recently redesigned pond area. Long may it continue with the rest of the summer events to come.
