Late at the Tate

Last Friday was the monthly Late at the Tate and this was my first visit to the new Switch tower.

It was packed inside when I arrived at 7pm the Tate helpers were certainly doing a good job in directing to all the displays of art.

The Tate Modern holds the countries collection of modern art from the 1900 to the present day.

The new switch tower was opened in June and has 10 floors. On the top floor you get spectacular views of London. You can see some of the photographs I took looking towards St Pauls Cathedral. Plus another looking towards the Shard.

Inside the various floors are the galleries displaying various exhibitions of modern art. It is so vast it was impossible to see everything in the free part.

Below are some of the photographs I took of the various galleries.

More photos can be found on my Flickr account the link is below. Plus a link to my Instagram account. Definitely worth checking out it can get very busy at the weekends.

Thanks to Igerslondon for setting up a meet up in the gallery.

November Events 2025

Welcome to the November issue of my newsletter. The year has certainly flown by. And now it’s nearly Christmas; this is the month when fireworks and Christmas lights are switched on. There are plenty of those in the events listed below. One of my favourite times of the year.

100 Years of Film: From Sons of the Sea to a Guinness World Record

From stormtroopers to Bridgerton gowns, the Old Royal Naval College became a real-life movie set as fans and filmmakers celebrated 100 years of British cinema with Elstree Studios. I captured the record-breaking day where 874 people made film history — and revisited a century of stories shot on these iconic grounds.
