Watford Market Lates, Coronation Special – 5th
Celebrate the King’s Coronation Special! Includes live music alongside craft beer, a pop-up bar and delicious street food from around the globe, including Caribbean, Asian and Korean street food.

Pearly Kings and Queens at Leadenhall Market – 5th
The City of London’s Leadenhall Market will welcome a Royal family of a different kind to celebrate the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort, with some of East London’s much-loved royals – The Pearlies. Decorated in their iridescent mother-of-pearls, a Pearly King and Pearly Prince will be greeting visitors in the splendour of the Victorian market between 11 am – 4 pm.

Coronation Procession in London from Buckingham Palace to Westminster – 6th
The Coronation Service will occur on Saturday morning at Westminster Abbey. The Coronation is a solemn religious service and an occasion for celebration and pageantry. Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort will arrive at Westminster Abbey in procession from Buckingham Palace, known as ‘The King’s Procession’. After the Service, Their Majesties will return to Buckingham Palace in a larger ceremonial procession, known as ‘The Coronation Procession’. Other Members of the Royal Family will join their Majesties in this procession.

King’s Road Coronation Party – 6th
As part of the Royal Borough, it is only fitting that the King’s Road hosts a day of extraordinary celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles. Expect live music and entertainment inspired by the King’s passions, each captured by the ‘plein air’ artists, painting the atmosphere as celebrations unfold. The Royal Hospital’s Chelsea Pensioners will be marching, and over 100 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels will parade the King’s Road from 11 am to 5.30 pm.

Coronation Party at Wembley – 6th
Celebrate His Majesty’s Coronation with a FREE, fun-filled street party celebration on Saturday 6th May, from 10 am to 4 pm, in Wembley Park, with free live music and performances, special kids’ entertainment, street food markets, ‘King Charles’ selfie moments.

Coronation Party Bench Trail at Tower of London – 6th til 1st September
Fifteen winners were selected from more than 1,500 fantastic entries, to be brought to life by professional artists from global public art producers Wild in Art. The sculptures share insight into the values and symbols chosen by today’s young people to define the new era, with themes ranging from unity and peace to resilience, kindness and care for the environment. The winning benches will remain onsite at the Tower of London throughout the summer.

King’s Coronation Party at Battersea Power Station – 6th till 8th
Enjoy some of the best live music and unique acts (did someone say Elton John and Spice Girls tribute acts?!) both on stage and roaming around the park, inside the Turbine Halls inside the Power Station, Malaysia Square and Riverwalk. Get your royal wave ready, Battersea Power Station is hosting a King’s Coronation Party, and it’s going to be THE place to celebrate in London over the bank holiday weekend!

Big Coronation Lunch at the Bandstand, Cassiobury Park, Watford – 7th
From 12 noon to 4 pm, organised by the council, the Elected Mayor will open an afternoon of music at the bandstand. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic whilst enjoying the coronation-themed festivities.

Lighting up the Nation for the Coronation – 7th
The centrepiece of the Coronation Concert, ‘Lighting up the Nation’, will see the country join together in celebration as iconic locations across the United Kingdom are lit up using projections, lasers, drone displays and illuminations.

Ballerina in the Bluebell Woods – 8th or 9th
Join us on a photo shoot with a ballerina through Whippendell Woods, using the backdrop of the bluebells to make some fantasy shots. The bluebells are now up.

Urban Village Fete – 14th
Join us for the 7th annual Urban Village Fete – a free, fun-filled day of music, feasting, crafting, and dancing in the sunshine. Get inspired in our talks tent with topics from sports to sustainability, indulge in some afternoon crafting with hands-on workshops from Black Girl Knit Club and Madebymanos or treat yourself (or someone else) to some local, handmade goodies from our shopping quarter.

Photographic Walk in Cassiobury Park Peace Garden & Nature Reserve – 17th
Take a guided walk through Cassiobury Peace Garden and the Nature Reserve led by Andrew Lalchan (local photographer); we will explore late spring. Depending on the weather, there may be dragonflies & damselflies.

Light painting in Cassiobury Park, Watford – 20th
These small, focused workshops aim to provide our community with specific skills, inspiration, techniques, ideas, tips, and tricks to help you grow as a photographer. They are real hands-on workshops, with practical exercises to do on the night. Groups will be kept small to ensure ample one-to-one time. Jose, aka Portugueezer and Andrew, lead this workshop. Half the time would be on the Thames beach and the other half near St Pauls.

Clerkenwell Design Week returns to EC1, on 23-25 May and will showcase thousands of cutting-edge products for your upcoming interior design projects. The UK’s leading design festival celebrates London’s creative hub with more than 130 resident showrooms, over 200 exhibitors and new for 2023, and 10 design destinations.

Concours on Savile Row – 24th to 25th
You will see some of the greatest cars ever made, matched with specific tailors to continue a long tradition of car manufacturers pairing with the craftsmanship of Savile Row. There will be tours of famous tailors and demonstrations of remarkable craftsmanship going on throughout the two days. Many important names in the car design and tailoring worlds will be speaking on the main stage, and there will be live music too.

Superbloom at the Tower of London – 26th til 1st September
Experience the Tower of London Moat from a fresh perspective this summer as this unique and historic space blooms into life once more. Walk amongst the plants and flowers in this unique green space as it evolves into a beautiful, biodiverse landscape over a number of years, and enjoy seeing many different pollinators visiting the moat to forage.

London Studio Model Shoot (near St Pauls) – 28th
Join us for a fantastic shoot in an apartment near St Pauls’s Cathedral. This will be an indoor shoot with a couple of models, including a ballerina. It is in a flat set up as a studio and has a Parisian-style balcony with St Pauls in the backdrop.

Isaac Julien at Tate Britain – till 20th August
The first major UK exhibition by one of today’s most compelling artists and filmmakers. Celebrated for his compelling lyrical films and video art installations, Isaac Julien is one of the leading artists in film and video today. This ambitious solo exhibition reveals the scope of Julien’s pioneering work in film and installation from the early 1980s to the present day. The exhibition highlights Julien’s critical thinking and how his work breaks down barriers between different artistic disciplines, drawing from film, dance, photography, music, theatre, painting and sculpture by utilising the themes of desire, history and culture.

Hilma Af Klint & Piet Mondrian Forms Of Life at Tate Modern – till 3rd September
This is a unique chance to discover the visionary work of Swedish painter Hilma af Klint and experience Dutch painter Piet Mondrian’s influential art in a new light. Although they never met, af Klint and Mondrian both invented their own languages of abstract art rooted in nature. At the heart of both of their artistic journeys was a shared desire to understand the forces behind life on earth.

The Rossettis at Tate Britain – till 24th Sept
This exhibition follows the romance and radicalism of the Rossetti generation, through and beyond the Pre-Raphaelite years: Dante Gabriel, Christina and Elizabeth (née Siddal). Visitors will get to experience world-renowned works from their boundary-pushing careers. Style & Society: Dressing the Georgians at Buckingham Palace – till 8th October
This exhibition explores what the Georgians wore, from the practical dress of laundry maids to the glittering gowns worn at court. Discover what fashion can tell us about life in the 18th century, a revolutionary period of trade, travel and technology which fuelled fashion trends across all levels of society. Delve into the Georgians’ style story and get up close to magnificent paintings, prints and drawings by artists including Gainsborough, Zoffany and Hogarth, as well as luxurious textiles, sparkling jewellery, and a range of accessories from snuff boxes to swords.
