Excellent Galliano gig at The House of St Barnabas

An excellent gig on the return of Galliano after 22 years!! Though this was a one off gig for the House of St Barnabas charity which helps the homelessness.

Galliano & band

In a secluded part of London off Oxford Street is Soho square where The House of St Barnabas Chapel is. A part of London which I never knew existed before. The Chapel is wonderful french Gothic building, quaint and very good acoustics.

This was the first time I had been there on 3rd December 2013 for the Gilles Peterson curated event. Part of his November music series of events show casing UK’s musical talent. More about the charity can be found on the links below.

Chapel candles

The evening started with Reginald Omas Mamode IV earthy funky soulful music followed by the sultry tones of Denai Moore resonating around the candle lit chapel. The climax to the evening was Galliano. I was lucky I got a ticket as it was a small venue, intimate close up to the artists.
