Figures just out show that 2014 was the hottest year recorded by 0.68c.
It carries on the sequence in which 14 out of the last 15 years have been the warmest years recorded around the planet.
Here in the UK it was also the warmest year recorded since 1659 you can read more on the Met Office blog below
