Watford weather November 2016

November certainly has been a big change month. After 6 months of above average temperatures November turned out significantly colder by -1.0c below average.

Scotland was even colder than average with it running at -1.6c. It was also the sunniest November since records began.
Over the UK the month was dominated by high pressure to the west of the UK which which dragged down northerly winds. The lowest temperature of -12.1c was recorded in Braemar in Scotland.

In Watford there were 3 air frosts with the lowest temperature of the month at -4.0c on the 21st. It has also been wet with 68.3mm of rain which fell on a few days.

The outlook for December is looking mild after the initial cold week. More Atlantic dominated winds from the SW will be pushing the temperatures up. It might cool down after mid month with a brief cold spell which might result in snow falling.

The autumn overall has been fairly average with November cancelling out the warmth in September.
