Watford Weather – March 2016

It has been an interesting month of weather on the UK with the final figures for the March taking it just below average. It was quite a change from the mild winter.

We also had snow falling for a few days at the beginning of the month.

The Watford statistics are below but I recorded a maximum of 15.4c on the 22nd and the lowest temperature of minus 3c on the 7th.

Across the country the maximum temperature was 18.7c at Braemar in Scotland on the 17th. Also in Scotland a minimum temperature of minus 8.1c was recorded in Altnaharra. The CET temperatue for central England ended up at 5.77c which is just below average. In the series that goes back to 1659 there has only been once that March has been lower than December by 4c.

There were a few notable storms like Storm Katie at the end of the month. During the middle of the month there has been some very dry weather for 2 weeks. There were 17 dry days and the rest at least 0.1mm of rain fell.

For the UK in April its looking like we will have a spell of warm weather in the next few days and then it would gradually get cooler. It is looking like a typical April with lots of showers and large differences in temperature from day to day and especially at night.

Thanks for reading, now that I am back in Watford it should be more regular blog about the weather.
