The weather has always fascinated me from an early age. Watching the changing seasons come and go. Seeing the contrasting colours and the changes in mood that it can bring upon oneself.

I started recording the weather when I was 11. Taking notes of the minimum and maximum temperatures, the rainfall and the prevailing conditions. I carried on for 10 years doing this building up alot of data from the early 1980s and into the 90s. This was a period of rapid warming in my local area of Watford. In the next few months I will upload this data, into an electronic format to publish on my site.

For the last 20 years I have had a weather station which now records the data for me. This has made it less time consuming and you don’t have to go out in the cold and wet to read the temperature and rainfall.

To view some of this data you can visit my local page in Watford where I currently live.

For anyone interested in the weather I have provided some links below that I regularly go to.

Real-time Radar

This is especially good if you want to see the difference between rain and snow, I mainly use the RainToday premium version (£2.99 pm) it is updated every 5min and is very good. It definitely distinguishes between rain and snow and is the best one I have tried, I have been using it for over 7 years.

Met Office – httpss://
Dutch Radar – httpss:// good for spotting showers in the easterly winds

Weather Outlook
My most visited weather site is the Weather Outlook. Started participating in this website /forum back in the late 90s. Where like minded people discuss all weather related subjects.

CET Series – Met Office
The worlds longest weather series going back to 1650s is located here. It is now looked after by the Met Office.

Have you always wanted to see where the realtime lightening occurs and to track storms. Well this useful site is brilliant for this and I use it all the time to track thunder storms.
