An amazing evening of fireworks in St Albans easily one of the best and longest fireworks displays I have seen.
It was in the historical city of St Albans with its cathedral and Abbey. Even though I live Watford which is quite close to St Albans this is the first time I have visited their fireworks display.
The back drop of the magnificent cathedral is what drew me to come here. Plus I love to take pictures of fireworks using the long exposure technique.
The fireworks were launched behind the lake with the backdrop of the cathedral. There was even fireworks coming out of the lake, luckily no ducks got injured. The fireworks were put on by the company Fantastic Fireworks, double winners of the British Fireworks Championships.
The park was packed with over 20,000 people on a very cold night. I stood close to the banks of the lake to take the shots shown below.
The fireworks was well organised and run by the cathedral and 400 local volunteers. More shots can be seen on the links below.
